Mount Vernon resident Troy Williams was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 20 in connection with an incident that happened earlier on the same day at the New Rochelle Train Station, according to New Rochelle Police.

On the day of the incident just before 3:30 p.m., officers found a victim, a 65-year-old man, at the station who said he had been punched in the face by Williams, authorities said.

The victim told officers that Williams had approached him and asked him if he had money. When the victim told him, "No," Williams then punched him in the face and ran away, according to the department.

Police soon developed leads and found Williams around an hour later when he returned to the station. He was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault, a felony.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital after the incident, where he was treated for injuries sustained to his face and head.
